DALLAS – Capital Institutional Services (CAPIS), an institutional broker/dealer, promoted Ann Sebert to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2020. Sebert most recently served as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

The leadership transition to Sebert follows the resignation of Kristi Wetherington after thirteen years of service as CEO. Upon announcing her departure, Wetherington shared her confidence in Sebert.

“It is time to pass the torch to the 2018 Women in Finance CFO of the Year, Ann Sebert. Ann’s leadership as CAPIS CFO has been a tremendous asset, and in her new position, Ann will strive to make CAPIS the premier women-owned brokerage firm in the industry,” says Wetherington.

“Leveraging our global trading capabilities and reputation as a leader in commission management and program trading, I am excited to lead CAPIS into the new decade,” says Sebert. “My goal as CEO is to empower our talented staff to continue providing superior service to each and every client.”

Sebert joined the company in 2002 as Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer. She quickly moved to controller and maintained the position for ten years. Sebert then served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer on the Executive Committee, and she will continue holding those titles for the foreseeable future.
